Craig Riley Beng - I graduated! - 14 July 1999
After 19 years of education I finally graduated I'm now known as Craig Riley Beng! Ok, its not quite the same as Sir or Dr Riley but its a start! After choosing the wrong course (Electronic Englineering and Physics) at Loughborough University I knew I had to make the right choice the second time. I decided study at Manchester to be near the mighty red devils and opted to study Electronic and Computer Engineering. I graduated with a 2:2 (hons) and got a 2:1 for my final year project in web design (10th highest out of over 100 students).
I also completed my placement year at Compaq computers, the worlds largest PC maker. My favourite academic moment was scoring 79% on my final (3 hour) maths exam after missing most of the lessons and studying for less than a week. Although I (sadly) loved maths it was a great feeling knowing I never had to sit a maths exam again!
