After playing in two 9 balls events I decided to try my look against the professionals on full sized tables. In the first round I got my wish as I was drawn against Max Eberle, the WPA ranked 10th best player in the world at the time.
I ran out the first two racks for a 2:0 lead and then missed a couple of easy balls which left the match tied at 2:2. I then found my rythm again and won the next three racks for a 5:3 lead. In the enxt frame I played a great positional shot to leave me a 5-9 combo. Max called the ref to put some pressure on me as it was a little tight, I made the combo but unbeleivably the white double kissed the 5 and follewed the 9 ball along the rail for a scratch. I was left cursing my look and when I realised that I could could have been 8:0 up with a little more care, instead it was 5:3. Max seized his oppotunity and went on to win the match but I went away believing that with proper practice I could certainly compete at this level. I went on to win 4 matches on the losers side for a 33rd place finish and $150.
