2005 Hard Times Summer Jamboree - 14 June 2005
I arrived in Sacramento in greyhound style with the rest of the Aussies. We had just spent a week in Reno where none of us had done particulary well. I was determined to do better in this event and I couldn't wait to drop my stuff at the hotel and get to the pool hall. I had been told that Hard Times Billiards in Sacramento was a fine pool hall and I wasn't dissapointed.

The front room was very big with a large number of nice tables a young crowd. We had arrived on a Monday which was ladies night and I can honestly say I've never seen so many cute girls in a pool room! It was funny to see many pf the players walking around drooling. However it was the back room which was the place to be, well except Monday nights of course ;-)

It was an L-shaped room with large bleechers at the back rising 5 or 6 rows high. This was the 'action' room and it was already packed with world class players such as Buddy Hall, Kid Delicous, Mike Davis, Santos, and the new Reno Champion Marlon Manalo!

[More soon here]

The TV cameras where there to watch local favourite Mark Haddard. They where filning during my match with Dominguez but I'm not sureif any of it made it too TV lol!

In fact my match with Dominguez, a former World Champion Runner up will go down as one of my best performances to date. I think I ran 5 racks at one point and pretty kept Ernesto in his chair. I needed to of course as he had just crushed Tony Chohan 9:1 and is a world class player.

Next I had to play the local favourite himself, Mark Haddard. I have to admit I was hoping to play Hall of famer Budy Hall (who had also just won the 1 pocket) but he lost his match to Mark.
