I flew to Japan for the first time to join the barmy army and cheer on England in the 2002 world cup finals. I was going back to the UK to visit family and decided to stop in Japan in both directions! First I stopped in Tokyo where I saw England and Ireland play there opening games. On the way back I stopped in Osaka for a quarter final game what I had hopped would be England v Brazil.
Unfortunately despite getting revenge over Argentina England failed to beat Sweden and finished second in their group. This meant that I had to settle for the excitement of Turkey v Senegal!
